Ray Ban 2132 NEW Wayfarer

The new generation of Ray Ban Wayfarer! A new breed from Ray Ban that deviates from its Wayfarer brothers and sisters with a longer oblong face, ideal for those who want to add definition to their face shape or for those who want to make their face appear shorter. Although they appear broader because of the smaller vertical dimensions, the nose bridge is actually shorter than the Original model. This niche frame is mostly worn by fashionistas who know about individuality and fashion, those who want to break away from the masses of people and celebs who only wear Ray Ban’s 2140 Wayfarer. This version has definitely been created for a sleeker, chicer look- most definitely with women in mind, although of course they are unisex and many a bloke has been spotted in ‘em! The sunglass is more subtle and delicately formed with thinner frames to its predecessor and with a greater proportion of earthy tones with mottled prints….less in-yer-face, more retro glam. Available in 52mm small and 55mm large, you’re sure to find a size to fit your face.
Some of the cool kids who have been seen out and about in the 2132 include that curly haired OC delight Adam Brody and High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale…oh and Jude Law’s also a bit of a fan.
The Ray Ban Wayfarer is simply one of those iconic pieces of fashion and design that will always be creating a story behind it. They’ve come a long way since conception back in the ‘50s, enjoying adoration from international celebrities as well as from your average Joe Blogs such as you and me. Alongside their monumental design, the Wayfarer was also revolutionary in the fact that they were made from plastic, since eyewear prior to these were based around the metallic frame. Their story as pioneers of retro haute couture seriously kicked off at the very beginning of the ‘60s by the way of a Hollywood smash….and another ‘Holly’… Audrey Hepburn famously wore a pair of oversized tortoiseshell Wayfarers in the 1961 film Breakfast At Tiffany’s, projecting the name into the spotlight. Hepburn, obviously an icon of her time for her style, beauty and grace helped catapult the humble Wayfarer into stardom. Their off-the-wall individuality became a bit of a cult accessory amongst anybody who was anybody, retro fans of the ‘Farer including the massive John Lennon, James Dean, Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan, with Marilyn Munroe continuing the trend with the ladies. If we skip ahead a few years to the 1980s when a second wave of Wayfarer craze hit the shores of tinseltown when stars were sporting them left right and centre in blockbusting films, music videos and TV shows. Such celebs included Tom Cruise, Debbie Harry, Madonna, the uber-cool Morrissey, and the legend that is Jack Nicholson. Nowadays, we are spying a fresh bunch of youthful stars sporting the eyewear in our celeb news. The ever …….Chloe Sevigny and the Olsen twins refreshed the look and many ….stars have jumped on the retro bandwaggon, including Sienna Mille, Nicole Ritchie, Samantha Ronson, Sarah Harding, Kylie Minogue, Kate Moss, Orlando Bloom, Lily Allen…the list is endless!

Wayfarers therefore define vintage fashion. These are sunglasses with the original ‘50s design- cheeky, rebellious, and inspirational. Although many people have tried to mimic the genius of design conceived by Ray Ban, none have come close to achieving it. Ray Ban Wayfarers are the original and the best. Unique, fashionable and fun shades that without a doubt will be turning heads!
